Très Chic Mama Diaries: Maryam at 36 weeks

Well Aloha Friends! It’s me again, Maryam from Milk-Friendly. I am 36 weeks now and you know what that means… we are officially 9 months pregnant! And surprisingly enough, I feel very relaxed, content and ready for baby whenever he decides to come join in on the craziness.

I’ll be honest though; one of the biggest challenges during the second and third pregnancy has been to just chill out and just focus on the baby and I. Since I am a full-time mother of two, blogger and business owner, each extra minute I seem to get, I end up working, cleaning, organizing, cooking, playing, etc.  I have to force myself to try to take a nap. I don’t feel overextending in the least; it’s just a matter of my constant moving mind.

So what’s a gal to do? Well, I have found that the only way to get deeply relaxed and have baby and me time is to listen to my Hypnobabies CDs. If you are unfamiliar with Hypnobabies (or Hypnobirthing), it is basically the same pre-natal classes you would sign up for, but with a focus on training yourself to become super duper relaxed during your birthing time. I love it and I used it for my other two births.

And like I said before, during this third pregnancy, it’s been exceedingly more challenging to carve out the time to “practice”. So if you seem to be in this same predicament as I am, a hypnobirthing instructor friend of mine, Kelly, recommended to just grab your earbuds and listen while you are falling asleep at night. So I tried this a few weeks ago, and I must say, it is perfect. I was worried that if I was falling asleep during the session, it would lose it’s efficacy, but Kelly assured me that it’s even better because it really sinks into your subconscious. So we shall see…. I hope I am still on my “A” game for this labor!

Similar Top. Shorts. Earrings. Similar Necklace. Similar Wedges.

I’d love to hear what you mamas have used to try and stay focused and relaxed…

With Love and Aloha,

Maryam
